And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. (Revelation 12:11)
There are many warriors in life. They have fought in the battle fields of life and won severally. As you know that the battle of life is a continuous one until every person breathes his last. This battle is a battle of who reigns supreme between darkness and light.
1 Timothy 1: 18 “Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well”
Job 39:25 “At the blast of the trumpet it snorts, ‘Aha!’ It catches the scent of battle from afar, the shout of commanders and the battle cry”.
Life’s battle field is characterised by fear, disappointment, wickedness, doggedness, persistence, determination, focus, and understanding of everyone on the battle field to know when, how, what, where and why to fight the battle to be a warrior, victim or war bond carried away into captivity.
Matthew 24:13 “but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved”.
1 John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world”.
A warrior might win and may not but a warrior is a man of war, a fighter, a combatant- consistently has fought or still fighting the ones he’s into. The warrior is supposed to be experienced in warfare. He knows or needs the strategies to win the battle of every day or lose those battles.
This warrior is not fighting physical enemies as soldiers of a nation fighting the soldiers of another nation. He is fighting against powers, principalities, rulers of darkness, spiritual wickedness in high places and not mortal men. He is a soldier for Christ Jesus; He is in the army for God Almighty. He is one of those that God is depending on to achieve His purpose on the earth.
Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”.
Daniel 7:21 “As I watched, this horn was waging war against the holy people and defeating them”.
Romans 8:38 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers”.
His weapons of warfare are not canal- guns, machetes, swords and so on; they are mighty in God to pull down strongholds, to demolish arguments, every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”.
Colossians 2:14-15 “having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross”.
Every man on earth is on the battle field but it depends on who they are and what they are equipped with to fight and win their lives’ battles. Those whom have surrendered their totalities to God through Jesus Christ sacrifice and atonement are equipped to be warriors and win every battle that comes their ways.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all”.
Ephesians 1:21-22 “far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church”.
These are no longer slaves to sin or bondmen. They are now armed as warriors with the word of God in their heart and mouth; also armed by the blood of Jesus and given the name of Jesus that is above every other name for their weapon of warfare as long as they remain in that liberty that Jesus Christ offered by His death and resurrection on Calvary’s tree.
Philippians 2:9-11 “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Ephesians 6:10-17 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”.
Those ones who begin to make use of these weapons are warriors because they have started to win battles. They have every means to get more weapons to fight and win; they are willing and making every effort to be a warrior till when their rewards are given to them by their Commander.
1 John 5:4-5 “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God”.
2 John 1:8 “Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully”.
Alas, many warriors have forgotten that the enemy they are fighting does not relent or gets tired of fighting but they are deceived to believe that they have gotten all they needed. Some have relaxed, some are now relaxing; they are cut unaware by their enemy, disrobed, put to shame and strangulated.
Luke 22:53 “Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns”.
1 Peter 5:8 “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”.
1 Thessalonians 5:6 “So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.”
Brethren, however don’t be just a warrior but be a Conqueror, an overcomer in all areas of life and make it back home at the end of the battle on the earth
Revelation 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death”.
