“But the hour is coming and now is when the true worshippers will worship the father In spirit and In truth for such the father seeks to worship Him” John 4:24.

This is what Jesus desire from us as a disciple; we are not bound by doctrine, places or traditions. Many of us are yet to be true worshippers; He’s expecting us to worship Him from our heart where we forget about whatever is going on around us.

In an account in the Bible, Acts 20:7-12, “on the first day of the week when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul talked with them, intending to depart on the morrow, and he prolong his speech until midnight. They were many lights in the upper chamber where we were gathered. And a young man named Eutychus was sitting in the window. He sank into deep sleep as Paul talked still longer, and being overcome by sleep he fell down from the third story and was taken up deed. But Paul went down and bent over him and embracing him said do not alarmed for his life is in him. And when Paul had gone up and had broken bread and eaten, he conversed with them a long until day break, and so departed. And he took the lad away alive and were not a little comforted.

If we are looking for true worshippers these sets of people are one, imagine in a meeting where a lad fell down from the third floor yet this set of people went back to their meeting after checking on the boy and Paul said “do not be alarmed for his life is in him “. The people went back, believed the word of bro Paul. What are our attitudes in this generation when we are in Church? Who knows, the parent of the young boy might be there, his uncle, aunty, they might be there but they wanted to hear the insight of the word of God that bro Paul was teaching. Those people were not worried about anything. They didn’t allow anything to hinder them from hearing the powerful message from this great man of God.

Here we are, things have changed, we grumble when a message is more than 30 minutes, we check the watch, clock more than the time we opened our Bible in the Church. True worshippers are people who get lost in the spirit; they want the worship to last as long as possible.

These people were with Paul all night till the morning, they listened attentively to the word and not thinking of the young boy.

Brethren, our attitudes in our various churches need to change. We are asking God to manifest like the days of old yet we are not seeking Him like the heroes of faith did. The attitudes of true worshippers are like that of the Angels- all they do is to worship the Alpha and Omega; true worshippers never get tired of worship.

Devil will always bring one thing or the other on our way to distract us from God so as to shift our focus from God. What is that situation that happened and since then your focus has been on it and no longer on God? What occupies your heart while you are in Church? Jesus said “cast your burden on me”, He only wants you to cast your worries on Him and let Him take care of it. As you do so you will see the mighty hand of God.
