I have seen in my very early year an insect called Praying mantis, in youruba language it is called Dakodako. This insect is like a grasshopper but it is taller and thinner or skinny. I hardly see them around now maybe because of urbanisation (smiles).
Do you know why the insect is so named? The praying mantis is so named because when waiting for prey, it holds its front legs in an upright position as if they are folded in prayer.
My friends, the praying mantis does not pray but it prey. The praying mantis would better be called the preying mantis.
Brothers and Sisters you go to church, you are referred to as a brethren but instead of you to bow to God in prayers praying for others, you are preying on them.
Why are you a murderer? Even if you can’t pray for others, can’t you pray for your self? You are an example of a praying mantis.
If you know anything about the praying mantis, it will come as no shock that this insect is the paramount spiritual symbol of stillness and patience. The praying mantis takes its time in all that it does. It takes care to pay diligent attention to its surroundings, and moving through life at its own pace. It takes time to deal with its prey.
Ah brother, ah sister! you’re taking your time to accomplish the work of desolation you’re sent to that church, family, business, or community to do but you’re disguised as a man or woman of God.
Change your ways!
1 John 2:19, New Living Translation
These people left our churches, but they never really belonged with us; otherwise they would have stayed with us. When they left, it proved that they did not belong with us.
It would have been better if you left us alone and go your way than being a praying mantis in our midst.
Matthew 10:36, New Living Translation
Your enemies will be right in your own household!’
Romans 16: 17-18, Berean Study Bible
17Now I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who create divisions and obstacles that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Turn away from them. 18For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
You are suppose to use your stillness and patience for the Lord Jesus Christ but you patiently use your tongue, attitude and character to gather people for Satan in hell.
You have never seen any good in any body.
You have never seen any good in your husband or wife.
You have never seen any good in your colleague.
You have never seen any good in your family.
You have never seen any good in your business.
You have never seen any good in your place of work.
You have never seen any good in your church.
You have never seen any good in your pastor.
You have never seen any good in your Country.
You are always running people and things down, you don’t build up. You can never see good in your life!
Leave being a praying mantis!
My sisters and my brothers, change your ways!
Take a lesson from Sister Phoebe, learn from Sister and brother Prisca and Aquila! Ask brother Judas Ischariot, learn from Mr and Mrs Ananias and Sapphira!
Change your ways!
