I went to answer the knock, I first peeped through the door’s peephole and saw a man in black suit standing at the door.
I at first hesitated to open up the door since I had not seen this guy before.
“Who are you?” I asked.
The guy did not answer, he just reached to his pocket and got out a police budge. I opened the door and stepped aside.
“Mr. Felix?” The guy asked.
“Yes officer, how may I be of help to you?” I replied.
“You are under arrest for the murder of your boss Mr. George.” He said.
“Are you kidding me right now? When Mr. George died I was at the hospital, Miles away from where his accident was.” I said bitterly.
“Sir, you have the right to remain silent or whatever you say can and shall be used against you in a court of law.” He said
I then saw Diana smile at him then winked, I knew she was behind it all so did not bother arguing, I just accepted to be handcuffed.
Anne tried to say I was with her all along but the corrupt officer could not listen to her. They had fabricated evidence against me.
In the evening, Anne came to see me at the station, she was granted only two minutes to speak to me.
“Hello Felix, did they hurt you?” She asked.
“No am fine, they are planting evidence to tie me behind the malfunction of the brakes.” I said.
“Don’t worry, I will get you out of here soon.” She said.
“But how? Diana is working with the dirty cops to pin me down.” I said.
Anne then got out her phone and showed me a video. After I slapped Diana, she started recording us and she got Diana in the video confessing to be the one behind it all.
“I will present this in court and that way, we shall take them down together with the corrupt cops.” She said.
I was to be taken to court the following day. While in the courtroom, I waited for Anne but she never showed up. I requested my case to be postponed since my witness had not showed up.
Anne would never bail out on me, something was wrong, I could feel it. I then recalled I still had Rita’s card in my pocket, I was allowed to make a phone call and I called her, she agreed to meet me.
Rita came to see me in the remand prison later in the day, she had connections to the top ranks in the police force.
“Am sorry ma’am to bother you but am being framed for the murder of my boss, I need your help.” I said.
“I can make a few calls and get you out.” She said.
“No ma’am, the police are also in this, there are dirty cops working with the one behind the murder.” I said.
“You know who killed Mr. George?” She asked, shocked.
“Definitely I do, she was also the one behind our accident. She tampered with the brakes of both cars, targeting Anne and I and her mum too.” I said.
“You mean Diana did this?” She asked.
“She confessed it herself and Anne got her in video confessing, now Anne is missing.” I said.
“I will see what I can do.” Rita said and left.
I really hoped she finds Anne before anything happens to her. I went back to my cell and started praying.
The set day for the 2nd hearing of my case finally came and yet, I had not heard a word from Rita about Anne. I could not win this case alone.
I was taken to court and since Anne did not show up, it was my testimony against that of Diana and her bought cops.
The cops presented fake evidence to the court, they overpowered the case. I had nothing left but just wait for my Judgment.
The judge was about to present her verdict when a man walked in and requested that the verdict not to be given yet.
“Your honour, My name is James and I am Mr. George’s lawyer, I will be representing one Mr. Felix and with me, I got new evidence.” The man said.
Did Felix win the case? What evidence did James have? Find out in the next episode.
